My project will be over a week from today. I have exactly two more paychecks coming. All of my expenses are as low as I can reasonably get them. I’ve gone to the doctor. I’ve gotten most of my dry cleaning done. I have resume paper, envelopes, and postage. Guess I should get some postage. As of yesterday’s paycheck, all my bills are paid into early next month. I guess the main thing to do now is stop procrastinating and finally make sure I take care of car maintenance - I’ll get my engine light off, finally, by fixing that dashboard fuse, and then get my oil change, tire rotation, alignment if necessary, radiator fluid checked out, and a good interior and exterior cleaning. If I do that before my next two paychecks run out, I should be set for unemployment and the job hunt. It really is a blessing to know when you’re going to be laid off ahead of time so that you can prepare. What would you do if you anticipated losing your job?
