work
OK, so I was laid off on Monday and sworn into the Bar on Tuesday. I have an interview with a staffing agency on Wednesday, and I’m going to go out networking on Thursday evening.
Somewhere in the midst of all of this, I need to take stock of where I stand right now. I’ve got to look at my current credit card balances, for my own peace of mind. I’ve got to budget for miscellaneous stuff - it’s car registration time, and I plan on making one more visit to the doctor to get my hay fever medicine before my insurance runs out. (I’m going to try to save on the co-pay by trying to get my doctor to call the prescription in.) I should go and get my good resume paper out of storage. Oh yeah, and I have to check on my retirement withholding and find out what my options are with that money. And I’m also going to check out this whole unemployment thing, too.
Not being employed doesn’t mean that I don’t have work. That’s always how I’ve viewed unemployment. I wake up in the morning, not the afternoon. It’s all having hustle.
