smiling
When all my deposits clear, and my scheduled payment goes through, I will have about $1,500 left to pay on my old credit card debt and three more paychecks to work with to get that remaining amount paid.
Up until now, saying that I would pay my old credit card debt by 2008 was motivational. It was something I said to push myself to make it happen, and not something that I knew for sure. I was just worried and unsure about meeting the goal. For all I knew, I was shooting for the stars only to reach the moon. Certainly, I still don’t know what may happen between now and the end of this year - something could come up that could derail my plans. However, provided that nothing like that happens, my math says that I WILL reach my goal. So, I’m smiling.
It also looks like I won’t have to use my Christmas bonus (if we get one this year, like we did last year) to meet my goal. Technically, I’m supposed to use extra money like that for saving, once I have the old credit card debt paid off. But I’ve been a good ant this year. Any money I get for Christmas is mine - all mine! Mwahahahahaha… It will be the beginning of my "smelling the roses" fund. And I think the first thing I’ll do is get a professional pedicure. I’ll likely put the money in an ING Direct checking account, so it’ll have its own place to grow and its own debit card. I can go shopping with it, go to the movies with it (in the evening, e-venn!), go enjoy the Philly I know and love with it, get out of town with it… This is going to be awesome, and you know what? I deserve it.
