hustle on recess
I’ve been taking a money break, kind of. I did glance at my credit card balances and my checking account balance to look for red flags, but other than that, I haven’t done much at all in the way of keeping tabs or making plans. I’ve been busy and I’ve been tired. This move has been happening over the past week, not weekend, so I’m just starting to wind down. I’m just starting to get good sleep again. We’re just starting to sort through the boxes and bags we have around our apartment. And as long as I know I haven’t charged too much to pay off at the end of this month and that my checking account isn’t negative, I don’t care what’s going on. Sometimes I’m vigilant, but depending on the circumstances, sometimes I’m just relaxed like that. I said that I was going shopping, and I still plan to, but I’ve been too busy with the move.
Another thing about moving is wanting to buy new things for your new place. My honey is a great guy, but he’s not a decorator. I am a homemaker at heart - I want things comfortable and color-coordinated. To be honest, I’d rather go shopping for home decorations than shoes right now. I am not looking forward to shopping for work clothes, but if I had no inhibitions and I wasn’t on break from money, I would soooo be shopping for slipcovers, throw pillows and bathroom mats right now, LOL! No rush though. I’ve been on break since Monday and I like it. I’ll get back into my hustle by the end of the week. But in the meantime, it’s all about unpacking, doing my hair (which is so bad I’m almost tempted to get it professionally done), checking in on my family, helping my best friend move… you know, important stuff.
