sheisty
I got the monthly statement for my credit card consolidation loan today. Instead of my regular minimum payment, it says, "Reduced Payment Offer: Pay only $15 this month. Regular payments will resume next month. Finance charges will continue to accrue. Paying only the reduced payment amount will extend your term and may not be enough to pay off your finance charges." A little further down the page it says, "Congratulations! Your credit line has been increased to the amount shown! [An additional $1,000.] Use your available credit to transfer other balances to this account."
They must think I’m stupid. Really, really REALLY stupid.
Maybe they can tell from my constant aggressive payments that I might will actually pay this thing off early. Maybe they are concerned that they won’t get me for as much interest as they thought they could when they lent me this money thinking that I wouldn’t pay them back for six years. Maybe they actually believe I will think their offer to charge me more interest and keep me in debt for a longer amount of time is a reward for paying them so diligently. Maybe they think I will see their invitation to transfer other balances to them as an offer of help.
These fools want me to max out this line of credit and they want me to owe them for as long as possible. They are not slick! Come next summer, I won’t even know their name. They think they’re using me for money. But really, I’m using them to get out of debt and boost my already above average credit score. Unless the prime rate changes, they can’t charge me any more than they do. But I can pay them as much as I want! I can’t wait to see what they do when I put almost an entire paycheck down on this balance next month. They won’t know what hit ‘em!
They can be sheisty all they want - ‘cause I’m wise to it, and I’m not the one they can get over on.
